GMP SA508 has excellent strength and toughness, particularly at low temperatures, and is often used in nuclear reactor pressure vessels. The use of GMP SA508 steel powder in additive manufacturing allows for the creation of complex geometries, whilst the very low oxygen content in GMP SA508 makes it suitable for high-integrity components to be manufactured through Hot Isostatic Pressing.
